YOUNG DESIGNERS ONLINE SUPPORTS EMERGING FASHION DESIGNERS

“When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece
.”
- John Ruskin

Brimming with both love and skill in equal parts, creative online fashion directory Young Designers Online (YDO) showcases talented emerging Australian fashion designers and aims to give them essential exposure to fashion markets and industry networks. Encompassing up-and-coming designers in clothing, make-up, shoes, accessories, and all things creative, YDO features an online store and designer portfolios, as well as networking events, fashion shows, photo shoots, and soon-to-be pop-up stores.

The emphasis of YDO designers is on high quality rather than quantity; creativity, latest trends, and the next big thing. Customers know when they shop at YDO they are receiving high quality products while also supporting the local fashion industry.

The beauty of YDO is that it supports grassroots fashion. In a world where chain stores and high street designs are mushrooming while passionate emerging designers struggle under manufacturing and PR costs, it is a sad fact that many talented designers often go unnoticed. YDO aims to remedy this by offering in-house public relations and marketing, unlimited networking opportunities, and professional advice for a reduced and affordable cost for emerging designers.

YDO was launched two years ago and since has showcased myriad talented designers, held many successful networking events, and become a fairy godmother for emerging fashion designers. Some current designers featured on the YDO site include Lisa Taranto, Little Sparrow, Neon Heartache, Soot, Louis and George, LRW Makeup, and Veinwear.

2012 is set to be a big year for YDO, who plan to expand the list of designers and really focus on creative, raw talent of young Australian fashion designers.

Femme FUNds

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Femme-FUNds/302407796486062

Femme FUNds are a group of positive, creative, and inspirational people who are supporting charities with fun and entertaining biennial fundraisers. KAW Agency is excited to be a part of their first event later this month at Lady Lamington.

Unlike other fundraisers, 100% of the profits go to the beneficiaries, which this even are the Ruben Centre in Nairobi and the Edmund Rice Camps in South Africa. They have a strong focus on supporting women and children in Majority World countries and also in Australia.

A big kudos to the good people at Lady Lamington, Runway Express, Vogue, and The Good Guide for donating their goods, services, and time, so that a great event like this can happen.

Calling all local artists

Hey all you artistic Little Pantry devotees… Boy, do we have an offer for you… The Little Pantry have brought in a selection of metal bins and have upturned them as chairs in the artistic cafe with the plan to offer them out to artists to turn them from mundane to master-pieces. They are taking submissions from local artists who would like to put a little bit of themselves into the Little Pantry… Either message them through Facebook or pop into the cafe on the corner of James and Kent St…
